Contacts List View & Smart Lists Tour

The Contacts module combines a redesigned List View with SmartLists 2.0 into a single, cohesive workspace. The update brings drag-and-drop column management, a powerful AND/OR filter builder, and refined sharing controls — all aimed at making contact organization faster and more action-oriented.

When you navigate to Contacts, the modernized view is applied automatically.

The redesigned list view offers a cleaner, more consistent display that aligns with the rest of the CRM.

You can add, remove, and reorder columns without leaving the list:

  1. Open the column/field management control at the top-right of the contact table.
  2. Search for or scroll to the fields you want to display.
  3. Toggle fields on or off, then drag them into your preferred order.
  4. Close the picker — the table updates immediately.

Column changes apply to your current view. Save a Smart List to persist a column layout for future visits.

SmartLists 2.0 integrates filtering, field management, sorting, and sharing into a single creation and editing flow.

Filters combine using two types of logic:

  • AND (nested filter) — a contact must match all nested conditions to appear in the list.
  • OR (top-level filter) — a contact matching any top-level condition is included.

This lets you build precise queries like: “City is Austin AND last contacted in the last 30 days” or “Tagged ‘hot-lead’ OR opportunity stage is Proposal Sent.”

Click any column header to sort by that field. Sort direction persists as part of the saved Smart List, so the list always opens in your preferred order.

Show only the columns relevant to a given segment. A Smart List for sales follow-up might show phone, last contact date, and opportunity stage, while a billing list shows email and payment status.

Each Smart List can be kept private (visible only to its creator) or shared globally so all account users can see it. Shared lists provide more granular control over who can view versus edit — keeping your data model consistent while giving the team visibility they need.

How do I know I’m using the new Contact List View? When you navigate to Contacts, the updated interface loads automatically. If your view looks noticeably different from older screenshots, you are already on the new version.

What makes SmartLists 2.0 different from the original? SmartLists 2.0 combines advanced filtering (AND/OR), column management, sorting, and refined sharing into one workflow rather than separate steps. Everything configures from the same panel.

Are the sharing permissions more secure than before? Yes. You can now control view versus edit access per Smart List, giving you finer control over who can modify your segments.

Can I build complex multi-condition queries? Yes. Use AND/OR logic in the filter builder to combine as many conditions as you need. Nest conditions under a single filter group for AND behavior, or add separate filter groups for OR behavior.
